Chemical Structure : Copolymer of vinylpyrrolidone and vinylacetate
CTFA Nomenclature : PVP/VA Copolymer
Physical Properties : Exists as white or milky white powder , and colorless or slight yellow transparent liquid. The clarity of the aqueous produt depend on the proportion of vinylpyrrolidone and vinylacetate. The aqueous solution of VA37 is cloudy, and the others are clear at room tempereture. The solution is slight acidic but not electrolytic.

Application:
Cosmetics : PVP/VA series products play a good role as film-forming ad hair-fixing agent. It´s hygroscopicicy decrease with increase in the proportion of vinylacetate in the molecular. This property is extremely used for PVP/VA as hair sprays and hair-set lotion. If used with PVPK30, the effect would be enhanced.
